Admission criteria to the Editorial Board

 The African Journal of Governance and Development (AJGD) ensures that all guest editors meet the highest academic and professional standards. Their credentials are rigorously evaluated to maintain the integrity and quality of the journal. This process ensures that all guest editors contribute to upholding AJGD’s mission of publishing high-quality, impactful research.

Guest Editors’ Credential Verification

  • Guest editors are selected based on their expertise, academic achievements, and professional contributions to the field of governance and development.
  • Verification Process:
    • Academic qualifications and professional experience are thoroughly reviewed.
    • Evidence of prior editorial or peer review experience is evaluated.
    • Contributions to the field, including publications, keynote addresses, and leadership in academic or professional organisations, are considered.

Admission Criteria to the Editorial Board

The criteria for admission to the board, including guest editors, are as follows:

  1. Academic and Professional Excellence:
    • A doctoral degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
    • Demonstrated expertise through peer-reviewed publications or leadership in the discipline.
  2. Editorial Experience:
    • Prior involvement in journal editing, peer review, or similar academic activities.
  3. Commitment to Ethical Standards:
    • Agreement to uphold the journal’s publication ethics and peer review guidelines.
  4. Recommendation and Approval:
    • Guest editors must be nominated and approved by the editorial board based on the above criteria.
