Errata Policy
The AJGD is committed to maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the scholarly record. When errors are identified in published articles, whether by authors, editors, or readers, that do not invalidate the article’s findings but may mislead readers, the journal will issue an erratum or corrigendum to correct the published record.
- Definitions
- Erratum: A correction initiated by the journal to address significant production or editorial errors (e.g., formatting, author name misspelling, figure misplacement).
- Corrigendum: A correction submitted by the authors to address errors in the original article that were their responsibility (e.g., data labels, funding acknowledgements, affiliations).
- Eligibility for Correction
Corrections may be issued for:
- Errors in data presentation (e.g., tables, graphs) that do not alter the study’s conclusions.
- Author or affiliation details.
- Omissions (e.g., funding source, conflict of interest).
- Minor factual inaccuracies.
Corrections will not be issued for errors that do not affect the interpretation of the article (e.g., typographical errors, minor stylistic issues), unless deemed necessary by the editorial board.
- Process
- Requests for correction must be submitted in writing to the Editor-in-Chief, with a clear description of the error and proposed correction.
- The editorial team will review the request in consultation with the authors (where applicable) and, if necessary, peer reviewers.
- Approved corrections will be published in a subsequent issue under a clearly labelled “Erratum” or “Corrigendum,” and will be linked to the original article online.
- Transparency
All corrections will be made publicly available and will not obscure the original article. The online version of the article will include a prominent note and a link to the erratum or corrigendum.
