Preprint Policy

African Journal of Governance and Development (AJGD) supports the principles of Open Science. It allows the submission of manuscripts previously posted on recognised preprint servers (e.g., arXiv, bioRxiv, SSRN, or OSF Preprints).

Conditions:

• The preprint version must not have been peer-reviewed, edited, or published by another journal.
• Authors must disclose the existence of the preprint at the time of submission, including the DOI or URL.
• If accepted, authors should update the preprint record to include a citation and link to the final published version.
• Posting a preprint will not affect editorial or peer review decisions.

We recommend including the following statement in your manuscript submission.

“This article is based on a preprint previously published at [preprint server], available at [DOI or URL].”
